Glow vs ForeverMissed

Updated October 4, 2026

ForeverMissed builds a memorial website after someone dies. Glow keeps your family's whole living story, from childhood to remembering, in one private place.

ForeverMissed is a memorial website: a page in someone's honour where family and friends post tributes, stories and photos after they die, often shared publicly. Glow is a private app for your family's living story. It holds the whole arc, from the childhood you're capturing now and a grandparent telling their life, to gathering everyone's memories when someone is gone. If you need a public page people can find and visit this week, ForeverMissed is built for that. If you want everything about a person, and the family around them, kept privately in one place, that's Glow.

Both can help a family remember someone well. They start from different places.

How ForeverMissed works

You create a memorial website for the person who died, choose from a large set of themes, and add a biography, stories, photos, video and audio. Friends and family can post tributes and share their own stories, and you can invite collaborators to help build the site. A basic memorial is free; paid plans add premium features, including a lifetime option that keeps the memorial online permanently. You can keep the memorial open for anyone to visit, or limit it to invited guests and set roles for who can post or change settings. The sites carry no ads.

How Glow works

Glow is a private family space, not a public website. The family scans old prints with their phones, uploads photos and video, and names the people in them; Glow builds a living family tree and a year-by-year timeline from what they confirm. Older relatives can tell their life in a guided conversation that becomes a biography in their own words, and their real recordings are kept with their consent. Children can play the "who's in this?" family game. Everyone adds names, stories and voices, and relatives without an account can add a story to a photo through a guest link.

When someone dies, the same space has a memorial mode: an "In memory of" page, a condolence book and a candle, kept inside the private family space with everything else about their life.

The main differences

Public page, or private family space

ForeverMissed is built to be shared: a memorial website that can be open to anyone who knew the person. Glow is private by default. The people who see it are the family members you invite, and guests you send a link to for a single photo.

After a death, or a whole life

ForeverMissed usually begins when someone dies. Glow usually begins long before, with the photos and stories of a family that's still living them, so that when someone dies, their memories are already gathered in one place.

Tributes, or photos with their stories

ForeverMissed is organised around tributes and a life story. Glow is organised around photos and people: who's in each picture, when it was taken, and the story behind it, laid out on a family tree and a timeline.

Voices, kept as they were

Both can hold audio. In Glow, recordings are always real, kept with the person's consent and under the family's control. Glow will never fake a person's voice.

Which one should you choose?

  • Choose ForeverMissed if you want a memorial website that friends, colleagues and the wider community can visit and add tributes to, especially in the days around a funeral.
  • Choose Glow if you want a private place for your family's whole story, where remembering someone sits alongside their childhood photos, their voice, and the grandchildren who are still learning who they were.

Some families use both: a public memorial for the wider circle, and Glow for the family's own photos, stories and voices.

A first step

Before you build anything, ask three people who knew them for one story each. Write the stories down with the date and who told them. Whatever you choose next, those stories are the heart of it.
